The Ronald McDonald House Charities are well known worldwide for their commitment to helping “keep families with sick children together and near the care and resources they need.” The design team at Svigals and Partners are adept at creating project designs where a high level of care and consideration is required. Per their website; “From the clients to the designers to the contractors to the users, all conspired in the creation of this new home to bring to the families their love of what they do. The collective hope is for that love to be felt by all who enter.”

The exterior of the Ronald McDonald House is just as warm and inviting to these families in need as the interior spaces. The use of warm, earthy colors, natural wood cladding and whimsical artwork combine to create an outdoor space that welcomes all. Svigals and Partners website testifies to this as well, “Families under great duress will have a home that in every detail aims to care for them as they wish to care for their children. The variety of places to be alone or with other family members is influenced by the warm and open presence of nature.”

Petra Construction served as the construction manager for this wonderful project. Ultimate Construction LLC brought a high level of skilled carpentry to complete the variety of exterior claddings. FSC® Certified Louro Preto hardwood cladding was used for the wood siding and the Climate-Shield® Rain Screen System was adapted to meet the unique design and construction requirements for this project.
