Machiche hardwood decking with a UV inhibiting oil finish
For best looks and performance, exterior hardwoods like Machiche decking and Machiche siding starts with a few simple, but crucial steps.
First, allow your hardwood to acclimate properly to your site. This lets your wood to move and adjust appropriately- before installation.
Next, protect your wood with a UV inhibiting finish initially. You can have the material prefinished, or finish it on site. It's best to finish your wood before installation. This protects all six sides of your boards – both faces, both edges and both ends.
If you prefer the 'like new' wood look and wish to maintain it, simply re-finish your Machiche hardwood decking and siding as desired. Otherwise, you can choose to let your exterior hardwood mature to a silvery gray 'weathered wood' patina over time. The beauty of it is that you can change your mind at any time depending on your preference.
