Next, protect your wood with a UV inhibiting finish initially. You can have the material prefinished, or finish it on site. It's best to finish your wood before installation. This protects all six sides of your boards – both faces, both edges and both ends.
If you prefer the 'like new' wood look and wish to maintain it, simply re-finish your Machiche hardwood decking and siding as desired. Otherwise, you can choose to let your exterior hardwood mature to a silvery gray 'weathered wood' patina over time. The beauty of it is that you can change your mind at any time depending on your preference.
