Let's take a look at two of the tests that Trespa surpasses:

  • Test #1 Artificial Weathering Test. This test is important because it precisely measures how much UV a Trespa panel can handle without fading, and how it will perform in various different climates. 
  • Test #2 Resistance to Sulphur Dioxide is necessary since the effects of pollutants like sulphur dioxide can cause a loss of color and gloss on your exterior siding.

ARTIFICIAL WEATHERING TEST

In Test #1 Artificial Weathering, The Quality R&D Scientists demonstrate how they test for resistance to exterior weather conditions to be sure panels keep their appearance in any climate.

Their testing mimics up to 3000 hours of punishing weather conditions per sample. They use the range of worldwide climates, including Florida, as the best examples of common conditions.

RESISTANCE TO SULFUR DIOXIDE TESTING

The next video, Test #2 Resistance to Sulphur Dioxide, explains how they use long term exposure to Sulphur dioxide, the main pollutant in acid rain, as a an example of extreme exposure conditions. Then they test the panel surface for any degradation in appearance including loss of color or gloss in the finish.

After UV exposure, resistance to chemicals is the next most punishing weather effect that your siding will be exposed to. You can't protect your home from the harmful effects of chemical pollutants in the rain and atmosphere.
