We love the look of real wood siding. Nothing says, ‘welcome to our place’ like the warm look of wood. So, when it came time to update the exterior of our (mostly) brick building, we thought about real wood siding. But we didn’t want the periodic maintenance on this exterior remodel. We chose Trespa Pura wood decor sidings instead. And you can, too.
Trespa Pura NFC sidings are low maintenance. They’re available in eight different wood decors. Trespa offers the warm look of real wood siding. But not the usual refinishing and maintenance. If you want to keep the ‘like new’ wood look of real wood siding, but don’t want to maintain it, Trespa Pura is a great siding option to consider.
Trespa Pura siding installs quickly. We used a standard AWB (air and water barrier) over the exterior sheathing. Then we installed hardwood furring strips. (They last a lot longer than cheap furring strips.) Over the hardwood furring, we sealed them with weatherproof, UV resistant tape. It’s black, so you can hardly see it at the ends of the siding boards, where you leave spacing.
Trespa Pura sidings are high performance and color fast. Trespa has tested their patented color process, to meet the worlds' harshest UV climates. Miami, FL for one. They look great. Last long. Trespa requires very little maintenance, other than an occasional cleaning.
We chose the new ‘Tropical Ipe’ wood décor for our project. For trim around the doorway, we used real Ipe hardwood. We love the look. Choose whichever siding color matches your exterior design scheme. We did.
