Sanford, ME - The kids love their new school. And we do, too. The design team chose two Trespa Pura cladding colors to accent and welcome the students to their new school. Trespa Pura works well in many climates and can handle the cold temperatures of coastal New England. And it looks great - check it out.

Lavallee Brensinger Architects was selected to design the new Sanford High School and Technical Center. The new state-of the-art school is massive, nearly 300,000 square feet. And it serves 1,400 students. The new facility focuses on technology and 21st century learning. And it is beautiful, inside and out. The architects chose Trespa Pura cladding as accents on the exterior facade. Trespa sidings have a modern appeal, but a natural look. Trespa Pura siding makes a welcoming statement at the school entrance. Especially against the starker look of concrete and brick.

Using a mixed palette of cladding options for facades is a growing design trend in architectural design. On this project, the warm Trespa Pura wood decors stand in sharp contrast to the colder looking brick and split faced concrete. And the two different colors of the Trespa Pura siding work very nicely together. The Slate Ebony wood decor looks adds a dark contrasting color. The lighter look of Trespa Pura's Classic Oak looks great.

According to an article in Foster News, school principal Matthew Petermann stated, “This is amazing. It’s a great opportunity for the community. It’s a great opportunity for the kids here. We’re very excited.”

For additional excitement, the design team chose to install the Trespa vertically. It really emphasizes the height of the open spaces. We love the welcoming look the Trespa Pura wood decors create for the students and visitors as they enter the building. They used Trespa inside, too. The Classic Oak wood decor towers warmly on the vestibule.
